Alex joined Capital Law in October 2009 as a trainee and joined the employment team in 2011. She works with a range of clients to provide advice on both contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law.

Alex specialises in:

  • unfair dismissal claims
  • discrimination claims
  • disciplinary and grievance proceedings
  • drafting service agreements with a focus on intellectual property clauses
  • reviewing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date with the latest legal developments
  • intellectual property aspects of employment law
  • UK in-bound corporate immigration advice
  • the Agency Worker Regulations 2010.

Some of Alex’s recent work includes:

  • preparing and delivering bespoke in-house training sessions on a variety of topics including the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 and TUPE
  • defending a complex unfair dismissal and discrimination claims
  • reviewing policies and procedures in light of recent legislative changes
  • advising clients on the current status of holiday pay and entitlement
  • negotiating exit packages for senior personnel
  • undertaking employment due diligence in relation to a high value corporate transactions including one recently shortlisted for ‘deal of the year’ by The Insider
  • advising a large national recruitment business on the legal implications of the Agency Workers Regulations 2010, in particular use of Swedish Derogation contracts
  • advising a national transport company on immigration matters including its application to become a licensed sponsor
  • advising a company on a collective consultation process which involved a proposed reduction in pay.
