Declan Goodwin is a commercial lawyer with a wide range of experience. He helps clients with:
- intellectual property and technology matters
- data protection
- competition law
He qualified in 2010 and joined Capital Law in 2017. Declan assists organisations with complex projects and strategic procurements, often associated with implementing new technology within a business. He also manages intellectual property portfolios, from trademarks to textbooks and software to comic books. Declan has worked with many early stage companies, as well as well-known global organisations and enjoys the variety of issues raised from assisting a breadth of clients.
Declan has spent several months on full-time secondment to RM Assets Limited, a subsidiary of The Royal Mint, in the launch of their new digital gold product, RMG (Royal Mint Gold). RMG uses blockchain technology as an immutable record of ownership of the gold stored at The Royal Mint but transacted digitally – see www.royalmint.com/rmg.
Whilst training as a solicitor, Declan also completed a diploma in EC Competition Law at King’s College London. Declan is a sports enthusiast. Having recently hung-up his boots, he now sits on rugby disciplinary panels for the WRU and formerly the RFU and Gloucestershire RFU. Declan is also a Director of Wales Golf.
