Jeremy has extensive experience of advising on legal issues relating to the construction, energy and projects sectors, both domestically and internationally.
He has advised on both non-contentious and contentious matters, and his clients include developers, funders, public authorities, registered social landlords, contractors, consultants and specialist sub-contractors.
Jeremy’s expertise include:
drafting and negotiation of contracts, (including both standard form contracts (JCT/NEC/FIDIC/LOGIC) and bespoke forms of contract
professional consultancy appointments
security documents – bonds/ guarantees
operation and maintenance contracts
Domestically, Jeremy advised the Welsh Government in relation to drafting and negotiation of the construction documentation relating to the Senedd Debating Chamber. His international work has included working in the Nordic countries, the Middle East and South Africa. He has recently been involved in the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts for one of the world’s largest civil infrastructure projects in Doha, Qatar. He also has experience in the management of disputes including risk analysis, strategic advice, adjudication and recently worked on a major arbitration in Dubai. Additionally, Jeremy is a trained mediator.
Jeremy’s experience extends to advising clients on energy projectsincluding wind, solar, tidal and waste projects. He recently advised Tidal Energy Limited in relation to the development and testing of a prototype demonstrator tidal stream project off the Welsh coast including advising on the on-shore and off-shore contracts. This is the first project of its type in Wales.
